13 bikes joined and we had a lot of fun! As the ride leader I led by example by demonstrating how to fall in various unusual ways. I survived and Scarlet and I are starting to get slowly get the hang of this mud and automatic gearbox thing.... John as sweep was as steady as always, what a good sport and expert rider!

We had the "ou ballies" out in full force and Leo on the FIRST BMW GS to be brought to SA showed the youngsters how to do it.. Mike and Patrick had great rides too. Patrick rode like a champ, given his recent exposure to big bikes.

There was great teamwork in planning new routes to avoid the deep mud stuff, but it was mostly plain sailing. I tested the inside the water canal route, but it was not quite satisfactory... :-) Baie dankie aan Andries who bailed me out many a time and all the guys who picked up bikes and provided advice. Really good team spirit and patience!

The koppie red and black tracks was ridden with ease by our experts. Wow, we do have very good riders and they only come out of the woodwork to teach the rest of us when the rides are "interesting/challenging" enough.

The bridge was a highlight too. We met up at Rafters with some fellow members and that was a blast! So now it is pic time! Lets us see the pics you took! (do not worry about my ego.... :-) ).

Greetings

Mario

Nice!

Ek sien geen fotos van bikes vol modder nie! Of het almal hulself te professional gedra?

Het iemand daai swart klippe pad by Smuts afgery, of bly dit maar iets wat almal moet paddle?
Not an accountant - Seriously. I'm not.

I'd be unstoppable if not for law enforcement and physics.

Thanks Mario for organising this great ride. A fantastic route I must add. The Susters had a heavy Saturday night and we only got on the route at 9am. We rode like the wind saw all the muddy "excavations" along the way. We were moving at a fairly fast pace trying to catch up to you guys so did not really notice the nasty parts. We were over and through the scary bits before we could think about it. We both had one resting the GS's event where the fat piggies wanted to roll around in the mud. Sorry we missed all the bike sports with the group. After all that is what makes riding so much fun. Next time we will wake up in time.
