The maim committee has decided that the GS Lite ride will be the CANSA ride with Deon Basson.

This means that we can go for ORANGE all the way! We will make a call on the day as what is Green, Orange, Red... The rain forecast does not look too bad, but a bit of muddy fun is almost certain.

It is time to go and explore a bit of our country side via twee spoor and the railway roads!

Date: 4 Feb 2018
Departure: 06:00 for 06:30, BP Centurion
Direction: Smuts house then railway lines south of R25 in Que Sera direction
Distance: 90 km
Estimate ride time: 4 hours
Return Home exit points: Many
Lunch venue: Rafters in Garsfontein Rd (to be confirmed) This is the choice to keep the ride short.
Type of lunch: Menu (ala carte)
Road challenges: Green to Dark green with Orange sections. Only a bit of gravel highway.
Rider Level: Nice and steady riding to gain some twee spoor experience. Railway roads are in good shape with the odd puddle of water. 15km of the 90km is tar.
Pillion friendly: Only for experienced pillions
Other:
Full off road kit, especially boots. Bring along water and snacks!

Please have a look at some Club ride guidelines to refresh yourself before hand

Many thanks to Hendrik Pelser and his friend Dawie for joining the recce! You guys are excellent riders and very good company!

Cheers!

Mario

Thank you Mario, it was good fun!

I think with the rains that fell and may still fall before Sunday this is going to become a more red route and will be reclassified as a Dirt Heavy!, so I would not recommend any pillions or inexperienced riders.

Some grass riding!

Not an accountant - Seriously. I'm not.

I'd be unstoppable if not for law enforcement and physics.

Optional sections have been added that depends on when we get there and how hungry we are...

Hi

This is the last version that shows all the possible alternative routes. We may try them if we have time!

The planned route is in Black and is called "Main Track" in the map file.
